The Office Of Fair Trading test case that will hopefully enable UK citizens to claim back bank charges that were unfairly made is still going on. The case is expected to last for a few more weeks and then once all the information has been gathered a decision will be made.
It is highly likely that the case will result in some kind of deal being made between the banks and the OFT. This could mean that you may not get the full amount owed back to you. Figures in the region of £10 allowance for letter charges have been talked about. This means for example that if your bank charges you £25 for a letter, then you would be entitled to £15 refund.
As of yet, nothing is decided so that figure could be widely inaccurate. The point here is that we should expect some leeway in what we can actually comes to claim back bank charges.
