The court case by the Office of Fair Trading continues on and so we wait patiently for the conclusion. But why wait! You can start reclaiming your bank charges today and get a head start on the people that are waiting for the test case conclusion. You can begin by contacting a no win no fee company to handle your claim. All you need to do is give them your details and they will do the rest. Obviously they will take a small percentage of your winnings (usually 10%), but considering you won't need to lift a finger it's a really good route to go down. I know we can take the 'do it yourself' option but when you have 6 years of bank charges that you have to work out percentages for it can be a bit tiresome.

I personally used a no win no fee company to claim back my bank charges and let me tell you it was a totally effortless. If you think you would like to do the same as me then check out this site http://refundbankcharges.com, it has lots of information about the reclaiming process and also compares a number of no win no fee reclaiming companies.

Good luck!

The case is expected to last for a few more weeks and then once all the information has been gathered a decision will be made.

It is highly likely that the case will result in some kind of deal being made between the banks and the OFT. This could mean that you may not get the full amount owed back to you. Figures in the region of £10 allowance for letter charges have been talked about. This means for example that if your bank charges you £25 for a letter, then you would be entitled to £15 refund.

As of yet, nothing is decided so that figure could be widely inaccurate. The point here is that we should expect some leeway in what we can actually comes to claim back bank charges.

The info I give here is from personal experiences of reclaiming unfair bank charges for myself and family.

When I first saw the media hype about being able to reclaim bank charges I was skeptical. But now that I have successfully claimed back over £2000 I can safely say that it is possible. The main problem I had to overcome was with the calculations as my maths skills are quite bad. So, I looked online and found out all the possible ways to claim back the charges.

In all there are two options; do it yourself or get a no win no fee company to do it all for you. Well, at first I didn't want to use a no win no fee company as I thought I could do it myself. But, trying to calculate 6 years of unfair Barclays bank charges was just too perplexing for me. So I contacted a couple of the 'no win, no fee' companies that I found online and chose the best one for me.

I then just followed their instructions and sent them the information they needed. They kept me informed every step of the way and about 1 month later I received a cheque for £2123.65p. I was overjoyed to say the least. And having the extra cash made Christmas a lot more enjoyable.

So if you think you are owed money why not try and reclaim bank charges for yourself, it's well worth it!
